We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in an energetic working environment, enjoys building relationships, and has a solid background in CNC machining.

The Role

As a CNC Machinist, you’ll play a hands-on role at the heart of our operations—translating engineering drawings into precision components that meet the exacting standards Harper UK is known for. Based in Colpy, you’ll work across both the milling machine and lathe, using our ProtoTRAK CNC system to produce high-quality parts that support critical fabrication and offshore projects. Whether it’s a bespoke one-off or repeat production, your skill and attention to detail will help keep projects on track. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that values doing the job right, solving problems proactively, and upholding our reputation for reliability and excellence.

This is a new role, created to support increased workload across the business—making it a great time to join an experienced and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC milling and turning machines (ProtoTRAK control system)
  • Interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture precision components
  • Setting up machines, selecting appropriate tooling, and adjusting as needed
  • Conducting in-process inspections to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborating with the fabrication and engineering teams to meet deadlines
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety in the workshop
  • About You

    • Proven experience as a CNC machinist, ideally with both milling and turning
    • Confidence using ProtoTRAK or similar CNC control systems
    • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
    • A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    • A proactive approach and willingness to support team goals
    • Flexibility to work across different projects as required
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in an energetic setting.
    • A team player with a “can-do” mindset.
    • Ability to adapt and solve problems as they arise

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum 2 years recent experience in a CNC Machining role.
